Deerskin has been useful for leather products because it is light, thin, and durable. Especially, leather of Yezo-sika deer, a typical wild animal of Hokkaido, is attracting attention now. The number of Yezo-sika deer, which had been endangered, has recently increased too much due in part to extermination of wolves. Therefore, from the viewpoint of problems such as agricultural and forestry damages, it has been required to effectively use it as a resource.
Warm texture peculiar to handmade products
EZO bags which emphasized the organic lines of animals and plants inhabiting in the northern earth are intricately designed by combining geometric patters. Ms. Takase manually sews them in a careful manner. Despite its color which could melt into snow and stylish design, the reason why you can feel warmth unexpectedly is because these bags have a touch of human hand unique to hand-made products, as well as flexibility of Yezo-sika leather.
