Hida no Mori Takumi-ryu Hiji Nukigaki
Valuable material in the age of master carpenters
Hida no Mori Takumi-ryu Hiji Nukigaki is one of the technical books for carpenters along with Hida-nai Takumi-ryu Daiku Himitsu Denju and Banjo Torishimari Kiteisho, which stipulate master carpenter-style manners in Hida, and how to create curved lines, and serves as a valuable material for learning about the situation of carpenters in those days. Dates in 1757 are entered in the Hida no Mori Takumi-ryu Hiji Nukigaki. These dates were during the lifetime of the first Mizuma Sagami of the Mizuma family, which produced great carpenters. Currently, this material is preserved in the Takayama Museum of History and Art in Kamiichinomachi in Takayama, a facility that introduces the history, arts and crafts, and traditional culture of Takayama.
