Gangi Dori (covered walkways)
""Gangi"" are extended eaves of the house built to ensure passage of pedestrians during the winter season.
The total length of Gangi Dori is 16 kilometers, making it one of the the longest existing covered alleys in Japan. This area was also used as a location for the movie, ""Fumiko no Umi"" (Sea of Fumiko).
Along Honcho 6-chome, the old townhouses have been refurbished to become new facilities like Takada Komachi, the Goze Museum and some historical buildings like the old Imai Dye Shop, Takada Sekaikan and many more places to stop by along the covered alley.
